The BHSA calendar of events started off with a bang (literally!) with our ever-popular Fireworks Night held at the Sports Field last month. Aside from the brilliant fireworks display, the event, attended by nearly 900 people from the Blackheath High community, consisted of a wonderful array of stalls including the BHSA bar and coffee shop, candy floss and toffee apple corner, delicious food catered via parents from the Junior School and much much more!
To usher in the festive season, local florist Passion Flower held a wonderful wreath making workshop at the Senior School. Students and families gathered to create beautifully decorated Christmas wreath, enjoy a drink and a mince pie and truly get into the Christmas spirit!
New this year, Trees for Christmas offered Christmas garlands along with the ever-popular trees and wreaths. A big thank you to the parents volunteers who spent their Saturday morning handing out orders at the Sports Fields – and of course to everyone who ordered!
The final BHSA event for 2025 was the Christmas Fair! The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves visiting various stalls such as cookie decorating, the hot chocolate stand, crafts and games, bracelet shopping and much much more! The pre-loved sale once again proved to be very popular! It is safe to say one of the highlights was the meeting of the main man and his little elves!
Stay tuned for our next newsletter which will include details of upcoming events - the first of which will be the BHSA Quiz night in February.
The BHSA team would like to extend a huge thanks to everyone who has donated - whether that’s their time, uniform for the BHSA second hand shop, or items for the Christmas Fair, we could not do this without you!
Finally, some housekeeping! From January 2026, Asha Ngai will be taking over as Co-Chair, alongside Rich Myers. Outgoing Chair Jarlath Pratt will kindly continue supporting as Vice-Chair.
We are also opening nominations for a new BHSA team for the academic year 2026-2027. If you are interested in putting your name forward and learning about the different roles, please email the Chairs on bhsachairs@gmail.com, or Head of Juniors, Ms Comerford, at l.comerford@bla.gdst.net.
Thank you and wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a fantastic 2026!
