We are thrilled that our Sixth Form Debate Team has successfully completed the first round of the English Speaking Union ‘Mace’ debating competition, and will now enter into Round Two alongside City of London Girls and St Dunstan’s College, finishing ahead of St Michael’s, St Saviour’s & St Olave’s, and Alleyn’s. 

Huge congratulations to Sylvie, Kiki and Ruth. The standard this year was exceptionally high, with schools demonstrating impressive skill and passion, but our team rose to the challenge, impressing the judges with their eloquence, sharp thinking and excellent teamwork. We are incredibly proud of their achievement. 

Round Two will take place between Monday 12 and Friday 30 January 2026, and we can’t wait to see what the team brings to the next stage of the competition.
