Year 3 took their Mighty Girls ethos to new heights with an exhilarating day of Outdoor Learning at the Sports Field, led by The Hive. The experience focused on developing confidence through appropriate risk-taking, using Forest School and bushcraft activities to build resilience, teamwork, and practical skills.
The day began with a lively warm-up game and a safety briefing, setting the tone for thoughtful exploration and responsible adventure. The girls then rotated through a series of hands-on activities:
Whittling tent pegs using sheath knives and potato peelers
Crafting wooden mallets with the help of a mighty billhook knife
Tying square lashing knots and creating their own paracord bracelets
To round off the day, girls gathered around the campfire to learn fire-lighting techniques and master the Kelly kettle. They prepared and cooked delicious baked apples over the flames and treated themselves to a warming spiced hot chocolate - an unforgettable end to a day of discovery and empowerment.
