For Year 6, the end of term also marks another milestone – the end of their time at Junior School.
Together with their parents, pupils celebrated with a special assembly with presentations and performances. Year 6 performed their Leavers’ song and brilliant video compilation allowed them to share many of their happy memories on the big screen. The assembly concluded with gifts to commemorate Year 6's time at Juniors.
We also welcomed Caragh McMurtry, Team GB and Olympic rower and Co-Founder and CEO of Neurodiverse Sport, to give an inspirational talk about her life and career and some useful advice for the future. Carah is passionate about the transformative power of sports in empowering neurodivergent individuals.
Good luck Year 6 on the next stage of your Senior School journey. We are very proud of you all and will miss you!
Two Year 6 students reflect on their spellbinding production of the Wizard of Oz, which brought the house down on 26 June!
I loved being part of The Wizard of Oz. It was incredible to see the school gym being picked up and landing in Oz!
Dorothy met some curious Munchkins who told her to visit the Wizard to help her get home. Along the way, she made new friends – a scarecrow who wanted a brain, a tinman who needed a heart, and a lion looking for for courage. They faced danger in a poisonous poppy field but were saved by brave little mice!
Dorothy and her friends finally reached the Emerald City, where they were set the challenge to kill the terrifying Wicked Witch of The West - which they did with much bravery and resilience! Our Great Wizard turned out to be a fraud, much to everyone’s surprise and Dorothy, through the magic of her red sparkly shoes, clicked her heels twice and found herself safely back home in Kansas.
The audience was full of excitement as each magical scene came to life with dazzling costumes and inspiring backdrops. Thanks to Year 5 for their amazing support, and to our talented Year 6 set designers and backstage crew.
A big thank you to our amazing teachers Ms Ndagire, Miss Williams, Mrs Coles, Rob Wraight, and to Mia from the Senior School for their incredible support. And of course, a special thank you to Mrs Karakosta for putting such an unforgettable show together!

I never wanted to be an actor. I would rather be that person that writes the script or works on the set. So when I found out that every Year 6 pupil would be in the production, I was nervous!
Auditions were daunting and stepping into our characters - from bumbling uncles to cowardly lions and wicked witches - took practice, but it got easier. We were assigned to learn the lines and songs, coming up with most of the song actions ourselves. Set designers and stagehands worked tirelessly to complete the magical sets and bring the stage to life.
The big day finally dawned. We donned our costumes, applied our stage make-up and waited nervously for the show to begin. As parents began to file into the theatre, you could feel the excitement and anticipation in the air.
And what a show it was! Everyone did incredibly well and it went so smoothly. Even though I was nervous at first, I’m glad that I did, because it was one of the most enjoyable moments in Year 6 and one that I’ll never forget.
