Big sisters and little sisters come together for Joint School Council

This term's first Joint School Council meeting was a heartwarming display of teamwork and sharing a common goal, bringing together pupils from the Junior and Senior Schools. Led by our new Head Student, Enay, the session opened with thoughtful introductions and insights into how our School Councils operate at each stage of school life. Pupils reflected on recent achievements before turning their attention to a collaborative project inspired by our Undivided survey, exploring the idea: “At school, all pupils have someone they can spend time with.”

Pupils eagerly shared stories about their buddy experiences and brainstormed new ways to help everyone feel included. Our “big sister, little sister” ethos shone brightly, perfectly embodied by Enay and her younger sister Aylin (Year 5), who fantastically illustrated the joy and value of connection and mentorship across year groups.

Our Junior pupils loved having the opportunity to exchange ideas with their older peers, reflecting:

“It expanded our knowledge, gave us new ideas and widened our perspective on different things.”
“We enjoyed sharing ideas and introducing our different ways of doing things.”
“It was good to discuss ideas with people with some more experience than us.”
“It was fun and we are looking forward to future meetings together.”

The session ended with a real sense of unity and inspiration showing that when we work together, everyone’s voice is stronger. We can’t wait to see how the ideas from this meeting grow into action.
