Year 9, 10 and 12 investigate bacterial growth in Biology

Students in Year 9, 10 and 12 have been studying Microbiology.

For the A-level Biology practical, students investigated the effect of antibacterial agents on bacterial growth. They have made their own dilution series and are evaluating the effects of different concentrations of an antibacterial agent on bacterial growth.

Year 9 and 10 have also completed an interesting study where they studied the effect of Dettol and Milton on bacterial growth. So far, you can spot bacteria growing most in our control (no disinfectant), but we are still incubating our petri-dishes. Our goal is to find out which disinfectant works better against bacteria.
