Blackheath High School girls learn the art of Chinese Dancing
On Tuesday 15 January, we had a dance teacher from Goldsmiths' Confucius Institute for Dance and Performance come in to teach us the Traditional Chinese Handkerchief Dance as part of our Chinese New Year activities.
She taught a sequence of four moves with our handkerchiefs and afterwards we learned the steps so that we could dance a short routine. It was very fun, interesting and creative, and a great way to learn about the Chinese culture. The handkerchief dance was very different from any other dance that we have in England.
Overall we had a really enjoyable experience and I am sure we would all want to do it again in the near future.
