Young Voices
Year 5 enjoyed an unforgettable trip to the O2 Arena to take part in Young Voices this term. Alongside an incredible 9,000 other children, they sang their hearts out, showing confidence, teamwork and enthusiasm in an atmosphere that was electric and truly inspiring.
Among the vocal highlights were disco and pop medleys, the moving and inspiring ‘Power in Me’ and the Sea Shanty Medley – which was very popular with our girls! They were also delighted to see supporting artists Ruti (winner of the The Voice UK) and Aneesa Folds.
Parents were just as impressed, praising the organisation and the joy on the children’s faces.
Year 2 String Taster Concert
The Year 2 String Taster Concert this term celebrated ten weeks of musical discovery, with every pupil enjoying the opportunity to learn violin, viola, cello or double bass with our specialist Visiting Music Teachers. This group learning approach is incredibly valuable, encouraging listening, cooperation and confidence, as children support one another to play as an ensemble. Providing access to instrumental learning at this age ensures all our girls can experience the excitement of making music together and inspiring lifelong enjoyment of music within our school community for all families.
The result was a joyful concert, with all pupils performing together for their parents.
Girls in Year 2 can now look forward to descant recorder in Year 3, Woodwind and Brass Tasters in Year 4 and ukulele in Year 5!
