Head Student Team Blog: Stella on her EPQ podcast

As part of their PSHE curriculum this term, Year 7 explored road safety and safe practices on public transport. To complement this, I introduced them to the London Transport Museum’s poster design competition, part of TfL 25, a year-long celebration of London’s world-renowned transport network.
The competition invited students to design posters inspired by three themes: Be a Safe and Considerate Passenger, Travel to Places of Interest, and Choose Active or Sustainable Travel. And I’m thrilled to announce that Year 7 Art Scholar Sara scooped the top prize for the ‘Travel to Places of Interest’ category.
Sara had this to say about the inspiration behind her exceptional design: "I enjoy exploring London, but I think that London is more beautiful at night because of the illumination and bright colours. I was inspired to draw pigeons because I feel like they represent London the most. Using the TfL network gives you the same freedom as the pigeons to explore London."
I was lucky enough to accompany Sara and her very proud family to Battersea Power Station to see her poster displayed as part of the TfL 25 exhibition. Sara also received a goody bag, which included a print of her winning design.

If you were also lucky enough to attend the Christmas Concert at the Old Royal Naval College, you will have also seen Sara’s artwork on the programme. She’s a true talent!
