The Blackheath High Year 6 Junior debating team were proud to represent the school at this year’s inter-school debating competition at South Hampstead High - an energetic and inspiring event attended by over 30 schools and featuring more than 600 speeches. 

The atmosphere was electric, with lively discussions, passionate arguments, and thoughtful reflections filling every room. Despite the scale of the competition and the intensity of the rounds, our girls approached each round with confidence and composure, engaging thoughtfully with challenging motions and demonstrating real curiosity and commitment. Although we did not reach the final stage this year, the girls gained valuable experience and grew in confidence with every debate.  

I could not have been prouder of the way the girls represented Blackheath High. They supported one another wholeheartedly, celebrated each other’s strengths, and navigated challenges with grace and determination. Their conduct, spirit, and dedication captured the true essence of what it means to be part of our school community.
