Celebrating our Mighty Girls Challenge at Junior School

This term, we proudly celebrated the achievements of our Junior School Mighty Girls Challenge – designed for girls in Years 2-5 to instil and encourage skills that the World Economic Forum predicts will be needed in the future workforce.

Pupils embraced the challenge to be Ambitious, Brave and Curious through a wide range of creative and STEM-focused activities. From building birdhouses and mastering magic tricks to reviewing books, writing comics and learning new languages, our girls demonstrated so many of the skills the World Economic Forum identifies as essential for the future workforce. Their enthusiasm, resilience and independence shone through every challenge completed.

We were also honoured to welcome Blackheath High alumna Abi Gilchrist - professional singer, vocal coach, and founder of UK Soul Choirs - as our guest speaker. Finalist for the 2025 GDST Alumna of the Year, Abi inspired everyone with her story of creativity, courage and leadership. From game-changing researchers to pioneers, champions of charitable causes to role models in arts and sports, the GDST recognises our notable female alumnae who are breaking barriers, driving change, and inspiring the next generation.

Pupils, parents and staff were so impressed by the effort and enthusiasm don display, testament to the resilience, growing independence and determination of all our Mighty Girls. A huge well done - you’ve shown what it means to dream big, try new things, and never give up. The future is yours!
