At Blackheath High, we are incredibly proud to be part of the local community. To celebrate and entertain our youngest visitors, we hosted a really wild stay & play session for 2-5 year olds at the Junior School this term. 

After the success of our Space themed event in January, complete with mobile planetarium and intergalatic storytelling, this time we took a walk on the wild side with an exciting animal themed adventure. Star of the show was an exotic animal workshop with specialists Wild Fang, which introduced children to a host of wild and wonderful animals including a giant African land snail, Sebastian the corn snake and Tiny the (huge!) bullfrog. Our partners at The Arts Place created a fantastic interactive drama experience based on a minibeast adventure; Blackheath High’s own Early Years teachers hosted a range of art activities inspired by nature, with a potted sunflower to take home. And the amazing Accent team cooked up the most wonderful array of bug cookies, frog sandwiches and minibeast pizza.
