Head's blog - May (2) 2023

Half term has arrived and the weather seems to be cooperating! I am sure this will be greatly welcomed by our Senior School students who have just finished one or two weeks of exams and will now be able to relax in the break, which is what it is intended for. For some who are taking public exams, they are still going but nearing the end.

The Junior School pupils have been busy, as ever, with swimming, athletics competitions, trips to the site of the Great Fire of London and Creekside, cricket fixtures, a netball partnership day, and yoga and meditation; they will be in need of a rest!

I have been out of school this week at the Girls’ Schools Association conference and whilst I always feel conflicted about being out for several days, it has afforded me the opportunity to discuss the latest developments in education and to consider new pathways for our girls. Unsurprisingly, Artificial Intelligence featured as well as the future of exams and building resilience. As a Head, it also allowed me headspace to work on our strategic plan for the years ahead; something I am very keen to share with you at the start of the next academic year!

I do hope you are looking forward to the break and whatever you are doing, get to enjoy some of the lovely weather and time with your daughter. I look forward to seeing the girls coming back feeling refreshed and for those still on the journey, prepared for their remaining exams.

Have a great break!

Best wishes,

Mrs Natalie Argile
