Blackheath High School was founded in 1880 by philanthropists, with the determined purpose to provide an empowering education to girls in a world where such opportunities were far from the norm.
To this day, we have at our very heart a dedication to social justice. We are proud that Blackheath High School is a place where everyone is comfortable to learn, grow and be challenged. Belonging and diversity are in our DNA and maintaining economic, social, ethnic and cultural diversity in school remain core to our purpose.
Yet times are challenging. In the past, thanks to funded government schemes, it has been possible to provide full bursaries to as many as 1 in 4 young women to study with us. Sadly, these opportunities simply no longer exist and we have to turn away many talented students each year.
We remain as devoted as our founders to providing an outstanding education to as many talented girls as possible. In order to do this, we ask you, our community of alumnae, parents, neighbours and friends to consider giving what you can to the Blackheath High School Bursary Fund.
We envision a future where we can open our doors to even more young women, teaching them to be bold, discover their passions, and chase their goals. We promise to continue to ensure bursary funds reach girls of all backgrounds, unlocking their unique talents, for herself and for the world when she leaves us.
By giving to the Blackheath High School Bursary Fund, you are bringing that reality ever closer.
