School Healthcare Assistant/Administrator

Salary: £31,179 per annum (pro-rata £17,946)

If you offer experience of providing first aid as well as office administration experience this position offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role supporting the School Nurse at Blackheath High School.

You will support the School Nurse in providing an effective, high-quality medical care and First Aid service to all members of the school community. You will also be responsible for the effective management of medical records.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing emergency first aid to staff, students and visitors of the School
  • Dispensing/administering medication for pupils
  • Arranging vaccinations and other appropriate government directed health care programmes
  • Supervising the medical room
  • Ensuring pupil medical records are maintained and kept up to date
  • Assisting the School Nurse in the provision of First Aid instruction

You will need First Aid at Work and First Aid Instructor qualifications, or be willing to obtain these after joining.

The working hours will be 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility on start and finish times. The role is term time only (plus INSET and 10 days during school holidays).
