Junior Art Exhibition

The theme of this year's Junior Art Exhibition is 'Celebration' and this was an apt description of Tuesday night's special opening event. With a rousing performance by the Chamber Choir and plenty of colourful and inspiring artwork on show the afternoon was a true celebration of talent and creativity. Nursery created brightly coloured Holi self-portraits. Reception took inspiration from Frida Khalo for their self-portraits. Year 1 have explored Chinese New Year by decorating lanterns for the Year of the Tiger. Year 2 investigated African weaving techniques and used textiles to create Savannah landscapes. On the floor, Year 3 worked collaboratively to make bejewelled Rangoli patterns. Year 4 have crafted Gaudi mosaic lizard sculptures. Japan’s Children’s Day inspired Year 5 to make patterned Koinobori kites. Year 6 have created colourful, ceramic skull masks to celebrate the Mexico’s Day of the Dead.
