The House Music Competition 2018

The House Music Competition took place on Friday 16 November and we were delighted to be able to welcome West-End pianist Louise Hunt as our adjudicator.

Louise has a close working relationship with Andrew Lloyd Webber and has worked on all his musicals and TV show searches for Maria, Joseph, Dorothy and Jesus! She has worked on the X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent and played in workshops with Whitney Houston and Michael Bublé as well as at the judges houses. Louise plays for the Olivier Awards with the BBC Concert Orchestra each year and was asked to perform a private concert for the Queen in her Jubilee years at Lord Lloyd Webber’s house.

Over the course of the morning, we listened to over 75 performances from our students and Louise not only commented on the high standard but the wide and diverse range of repertoire being performed. The day finished with the House Song category with Vanbrugh winning for the second year in a row. They also secured enough house points from the morning to win the overall House Competition.

Thank you to all the girls who participated and to the House Captains for all their efforts in rehearsing and performing the House Song.
