The day after the Referendum on our EU membership in 2016, there was a rather curious question trending on social media in the UK: What is the European Union? This was the question that Sam Evans, Programme Manager for the EU’s educational outreach in the UK, answered for us at a Wollstonecraft lecture.

In an interesting and interactive session, Sam engaged our students in a well informed discussion around the issues. No matter which side of the debate they are on, the students left with a better understanding of the process and with a renewed commitment to exercising their democratic rights at the ballot box.
