Sharing skills, building futures and get involved in 2023

At Blackheath High School, we place enormous value on developing and supporting rounded, engaged, well-informed students who are prepared for the future. We have worked hard to develop a programme of curricular, co-curricular and enrichment activities which develop their skills, and a huge part of this involves introducing students to a wide range of inspiring speakers from different fields and areas of expertise. Our alumnae are invaluable in bringing in different perspectives and ideas, and we’d love to invite you in to take part.

Upcoming opportunities include:

  • Women in Leadership: Towards a Sustainable Future, 1 March 2023: We are looking for inspirational women to help us promote, explore and understand issues around sustainability in social, economic and environmental contexts. As well as speaker opportunities, we are also looking for experts to run break-out sessions and workshops to help our students understand what sustainability might mean in the future. If you have specific expertise in the sustainability field, we would love to hear from you.
  • Wollstonecraft Speaker Series: This hugely popular and successful speaker series aims to equip Sixth Formers with a range of ideas, skills and insights to help them prepare for their futures. Previous speakers have included lawyers, a health equality specialist, the founder of an INGO, entrepreneurs, a playwright, a TV producer, a chemical engineer and an ergonomist!

If you would like to share your career experiences, insights and tips with our students, or get involved in any other way – mentoring, workshops, work experience etc - please contact us at alumnae@bla.gdst.net
