Cressida Dick wins prestigious Alumna of the Year Award

Congratulations to Cressida Dick, the Metropolitan Police's first female Commissioner, who has won the prestigious Girls' Day School Trust (GDST) Alumna of the Year Award.

An Oxford High School alumna, Cressida was honoured for her outstanding contribution to policing at the GDST Annual Reception.

Cressida joined the Metropolitan Police as a constable in 1983 and was promoted to Chief Inspector within 10 years. She has risen through the ranks to become one of the most respected police leaders of her generation.

The GDST Alumna of the Year Award was launched in 2011 to help recognise the varied achievements of our alumnae. Over 70,000 alumnae and students were encouraged to vote for a winner from a shortlist of high-achieving nominees.
