In hot pursuit of our expert skiers in the Italian Alps

Our annual ski trip returned to Pinzolo, Italy, with over a wonderful, large (and bonkers) group of Year 8 – Year 11 students. As someone who has run the ski trip for quite a few years now, I have never skied with a group of such high standard skiers. Of course, there were a few who were skiing for the first time who made great progress too, but most were more than able to hare down black runs, over jumps, through snow parks and generally off piste. Great fun and made me feel very old trying to keep up with them!

Jessie from Year 11 epitomised the positive nature of the students:

The skiing was great fun. We were given choices by the instructor about where we wanted to go and what we wanted to do. Also, where we wanted to eat. If we did not want to spend money, we could stick with the packed lunch that was provided.

The activities were great! They included ice skating, visiting a gelato restaurant and karaoke. It allowed us to have fun with our friends and talk about our days on the mountain if we had been in different ski groups. I liked how we had one evening free too as it gave us a good balance of relaxation and excitement.”

The hotel staff were so complimentary of our students (even the singing of YMCA) and made us very proud of them all. They really showed how to be respectful, kind, lighthearted and all while having blinking good fun!
