A-levels allow you to study the subjects you love in depth. Our specialist tutors bring the curriculum to life with passion and energy, and small seminar-style classes allow you to immerse yourself in learning. You will be challenged and inspired at every step.
You can choose to take three or four A-levels from a broad range of subject options, as well as the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ); a project-based qualification which is designed to stretch you academically and intellectually, and counts towards your UCAS.
Our grade guidelines require you to achieve a GCSE Grade 7 or above in the subjects you want to study at A-level (unless otherwise specified below). This isn’t intended as a barrier to entry – we want you to be ready to hit the ground running and enjoy your Sixth Form years.

THE ARTS
ART
Exam Board: Edexcel
A-level Art is where creativity, experimentation and imagination meet. You will be encouraged to explore bold ideas and express your individuality through a wide range of media – from painting, sculpture and printmaking, to photography and textiles.

Textiles
Exam Board: Edexcel
Grade requirement: 7 or above in GCSE Art
A-level Textiles empowers you to explore the boundaries between fashion, art and design – creating garments, installations and designs that express your individuality and vision.
Immersive workshops introduce a wide range of contemporary processes and techniques, inspiring you to think like a professional. You will be challenged to develop conceptual projects, from reinterpreting traditional prints to exploring sculptural forms through advanced pattern cutting. Alongside practical work, the written element of the course develops research, analysis and critical reflection.
The annual Fashion Show is a highlight of the Textiles A-level, giving you the opportunity to showcase your originality, technical skill and creative vision to a live audience. Year 12 students collaborate on capsule collections inspired by a shared theme, while Year 13 students design and present their own full collections based on personal concepts.
Textiles is a dynamic, forward-thinking and empowering A-level, preparing you for the next step in fashion, design or any creative field.
Textiles is taught under the same umbrella as Art A-level. Many projects, workshops and exhibitions are shared, and A-level work is examined, moderated and showcased alongside Art.
DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY
Exam board: AQA
Ideal for students who are curious about how design shapes the world around us – from the products we use to the spaces we live in. With its university-style, studio-based approach, you’ll gain hands-on experience and a strong foundation in the creative, technical and problem-solving skills that underpin careers in architecture, engineering, graphics, product design and beyond.
You will develop your design thinking and technical expertise through a mix of coursework and theory. Half of your final grade is based on a major ‘design and make’ project, where you’ll work with real clients to design, prototype and manufacture your own product using traditional tools, CAD software, laser cutting and 3D printing. The remaining 50% comes from two written papers that explore design, materials and manufacturing principles.
This course mirrors the life of a professional designer, giving you the independence, creativity and confidence to take ideas from concept to reality, and the skills to succeed in the fast-evolving world of design and innovation.
DRAMA AND THEATRE STUDIES
Exam board: EDUQAS
An inspiring and challenging course for anyone who loves performance, storytelling and exploring what it means to be human. You’ll create devised and scripted performances, gaining expertise in acting, directing and stage design. Along the way, you’ll reinterpret classic plays, study a range of set texts and develop your own unique artistic vision.
Through practical exploration and analytical study, you’ll learn to devise bold, original performances inspired by influential practitioners, while also developing the ability to think and write critically about theatre. Regular theatre trips, company workshops and school productions bring the subject to life, and you’ll have the chance to take on leadership roles, from directing and stage management to running Drama Club.

ENGLISH LITERATURE

Grade requirement: 7 or above in both English Language and English Literature GCSE
A-level English Literature invites you to explore the power of language, storytelling and ideas. Grade requirement: As well as achieving at least a Grade 7 in Music GCSE, you will need Grade 5 or above in Theory, and Grade 6 or above on at least one instrument including voice.

Psychology

Grade requirement: Grade 7 or above in GCSE Mathematics
Psychology A-level explores how and why people think, feel, and behave as they do. You’ll study topics such as memory, attachment, social influence, mental health, forensics and cognitive neuroscience – at the same time as developing the ability to evaluate theories, interpret data, and think critically about how psychology applies to everyday life, from group dynamics to decision-making and wellbeing.
Psychology combines elements of science and humanities, making it ideal for students who enjoy both. It’s widely recognised as a science A-level and provides an excellent foundation for university courses in Psychology, Medicine, Education, Law, and other people-focused professions.
HUMANITIES
CLASSICAL CIVILISATION
Exam board: OCR
Grade requirement: Classical Civilisation is read in English translation so knowledge of Latin or Classical Greek is not required, nor is previous experience of classical study. Grade 7 in English Literature, Religious Studies or History at GCSE is an indicator of potential.
Classical Civilisation offers a fascinating insight into the ancient world, exploring the literature, art, ideas and beliefs of Rome and Greece, and how they continue to shape the modern world.
You’ll study epic works like The Iliad and The Aeneid, explore Greek theatre and religion, and consider the political, social and philosophical ideas that defined classical society. HISTORY
History A-level helps you make sense of current affairs, politics and society by examining the struggles, ideas and movements that have defined human progress. LATIN

Latin A-level develops precision, logic and creativity, helping you to think critically, express yourself clearly and understand how language shapes meaning.
You’ll read works by some of the greatest writers of the ancient world, from Virgil and Ovid to Cicero and Tacitus, exploring their ideas, artistry and enduring influence. Through translation, analysis and literary study, you’ll develop exceptional linguistic and analytical skills that are highly valued by universities and employers alike.
There are opportunities to attend lectures, theatre performances and overseas trips that bring the ancient world to life. Many of our Latin students go on to study Classics or related subjects at university, while others draw on the subject’s intellectual rigour and clarity of thought in fields such as Law, Medicine, Communications and Research.
RELIGIOUS STUDIES
OCR
A-level Religious Studies provokes challenging questions about meaning and purpose, beliefs about God, issues of right and wrong, and ultimately, what it means to be human.
At A-level, you will explore ethical theory and applied bioethics, particularly valuable for students considering careers in medicine, veterinary science, law or media. The course develops strong analytical thinking, the ability to construct and evaluate arguments, and confidence in extended writing.

BUSINESS STUDIES

A-level Politics gives you a deep understanding of how power operates. You’ll explore democracy, elections, political parties and the ideas that have shaped societies for centuries – from liberalism and socialism to feminism and conservatism.
This is the perfect subject if you enjoy discussion, debate and current affairs. Grade requirement: Grade 7 or above in GCSE PE. You must also be regularly participating in fixtures, in or out of school.
A-level Physical Education combines practical performance with academic study to explore the science and psychology behind sport and physical activity. You’ll learn how the body and mind work together to achieve peak performance, studying topics such as anatomy, biomechanics, skill acquisition, and sports psychology.
Alongside exams, you’ll be assessed on your practical performance as a player or coach, and you’ll also complete a project analysing and evaluating your own performance or that of someone you are coaching.

LAMDA
London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) lessons give students the chance to develop confidence, creativity and stagecraft through professional acting and performance training. Working towards the prestigious LAMDA Speech and Drama exams, girls can perform solo or in pairs, exploring a wide range of scripts and styles.
These lessons build communication and presentation skills and also lead to recognised qualifications – with the advanced Bronze, Silver and Gold medals carrying valuable UCAS points for university entry.
