Blackheath High Sixth Form is your space. It is an independent place, with the freedom to learn your way and find your own journey. It is a place where excellence isn’t just what you achieve – it is the person you are, the friendships you make, the goals you set and the future you plan.

Our Sixth Form Centre is a sleek, modern space designed for both study and downtime. Classrooms feel like university seminar rooms – perfect for sparking discussion, sharing ideas, and working together using interactive tech. There are cosy break-out zones and quiet corners where you can focus, meet with teachers one-on-one, or catch up with friends. At the heart of it all is a bright, open Common Room with a fully equipped kitchen – ideal for relaxing, collaborating on projects, or just grabbing a snack between lessons.

Most students will tell you their favourite thing about our Sixth Form is the strong bonds they form with their teachers – relationships built on mutual respect and care. With an open-door policy and an atmosphere that values intelligent conversation and collaboration, students feel supported and heard. Small class sizes create a close-knit community where every individual is known; form tutors provide personalised guidance, and dedicated specialists in university applications, competitive admissions and careers offer tailored support every step of the way.
Uniquely you
There’s no one-size-fits-all journey through Sixth Form – and no such thing as a “typical” Blackheath High student. Our Sixth Formers pursue careers as lawyers, doctors, and politicians, but also as musicians, artists, and writers. They head off to top universities and join global apprenticeship schemes. But they also throw themselves into school life: designing epic World Book Day costumes, raising money with our infamous Sponge A Teacher Day, and transforming the Common Room into a Christmas wonderland. This is where you can truly be yourself.

Sixth Form life is social, supportive and full of shared experiences. From team-building days, to residential trips and expeditions, Sixth Form socials and the much-anticipated Sixth Form Ball, there are plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy your time in Sixth Form. Students spend time together in the Common Room, head to the gym, support each other at events and enjoy the freedom and independence that Sixth Form brings, all within a close, friendly community.
Our Sixth Form prefects lead on key areas like mental health, diversity and inclusion, and Futures; helping shape school life, and ensuring every voice is heard and every opinion counts.
