MEET OUR ELITE SPORTS PLAYERS
Reese, Year 13
Deputy Head Student and Sports Scholar, Reese, plays cricket for U18 Kent as the wicket-keeper batter, and has helped the team reach the 50-over National Cup finals two years in a row. Reese made her Kent Women’s 1st XI debut in 2024, has taken part in Tier 1 academy events, taking part in the Kent Emerging Player Programme (EPP) for 2025/26. A hugely talented cricket player, she was selected to play for the GDST Select Girls Cricket 1XI, competing at U18 level and appointed Captain for the season – a remarkable achievement reflecting her consistent excellence for the team over the years.
Before heading off to university to study Geography, Reese plans to travel to Australia and play cricket for an Australian club for six months during their summer. Whilst there, she will also be coaching younger players, having recently achieved her England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) coaching qualifications. Reese is studying A-level Maths, Geography, and Design Technology, with an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).
Nancy, Year 12
Nancy in Year 12 is a passionate netballer and represented Ireland at the 2025 Europe Netball U17 Championships. She has captained the school’s U15 and U16 teams and has been named Netball Player of the Season in both Year 10 & 11. In her first match representing the GDST Select Netball team in late 2025, Nancy and GDST teammates had a fantastic win against the Army. In 2026, Nancy once again represented U17 Ireland (this time as Vice-Captain) at the 2026 Europe Netball Championships.
Nancy has her sights set on studying Economics at university with a possible career in banking or law, bringing together her love of maths, rules and problem-solving. Having achieved straight A*s (eight 9s and two 8s) at GCSE and now studying A-levels in Maths, Economics and Geography plus an EPQ, she is very much on a solid path to success. Of course, factoring in Netball Superleague team locations will be a key consideration in Nancy’s university choices!
Georgia, Year 11
Sports Scholar and Year 11 student, Georgia, has had a very promising journey so far in her hockey career, at both club level and winning national titles in Junior and Senior levels both indoor and outdoor. She represented Greenwich in the London Youth Games in 2023 winning Silver, captained South London County at U14 and as early as Year 9 was selected for the U18 GDST Select team.
In 2023, Georgia was selected for Hampstead & Westminster England Talent Academy and represented them at the England Hockey Talent Academy Festival in Summer 2025. She also made her coaching debut in 2025 London Youth Games (LYG) for Lewisham with her team winning Gold.
Currently undertaking her GCSEs, Georgia plans to study Physical Education, Psychology and Business Studies at A-level, with the view to securing a prestigious sports scholarship at a US university.
Elena, Year 11
Year 11 student Elena is making incredible strides in her football journey. After beginning her career at Millwall’s academy, she moved to her current club in 2023, where she helped secure the U16 JPL league title. Her rapid progress saw her step up to the U18s at just 15, and she now competes in the U18 JPL Premier Division. Elena has also been selected for the U18 GDST Football Select Team for two consecutive seasons.
Elena’s hard work continues to pay off: she has been invited to join her club’s first team next season, marking the start of her senior career, and has also been offered a post16 place at the West Ham United Female Football Academy. Alongside her football ambitions, she will be taking A-levels in PE, Chemistry, Biology and Psychology, with hopes of studying Sports Science at university.
Lucinda, Year 9
Year 9 student and Academic Scholar, Lucinda, is a budding talent in cricket and following hot on the heels of older peer Reese. An avid cricketer within school, Lucinda delivers consistently strong performances in our U14/15 team and has also been chosen for the U15 GDST squad. In 2026, Lucinda has been selected to take part in R66T Academy Dubai Cup tournament in Dubai and will also be competing in the U15 Apex tournament in Somerset.
In late 2025, we were absolutely bowled over for Lucinda and teammates who were crowned U13 Girls National Champions at Lord’s Cricket, playing in the ECB T20 U13 Cup with her team from Bexley Cricket Club. This win earned them the prestigious title of National Champions out of 150 teams from across England and Wales – a remarkable journey and victory for Lucinda and team.
