OUR SETTING
the heart of london
Blackheath and Greenwich are among London’s most picturesque and prestigious areas, where history, wide open heathland and a strong community spirit combine to create a village in the heart of one of the world’s most dynamic cities.
Blackheath High School Junior School sits right in the centre of Blackheath Village, steeped in history and an integral part of the community since 1880. Our inspiring, contemporary Senior School is located at the edge of Greenwich Park, with stunning views of London’s iconic skyline.
SURROUNDED BY INSPIRATION
Greenwich Park and the Heath are an extension of our school, the perfect setting for outdoor learning, sport, and exploration. The Royal Observatory provides an inspiring setting for GCSE Astronomy, while London’s museums, galleries and landmarks are within easy reach thanks to excellent transport links.
OUTSTANDING FACILITIES
Inspired by our world-class setting, our outstanding facilities – from Nursery through to Sixth Form – are designed to support every girl’s development. Our Junior School girls have access to extensive specialist outdoor learning spaces; such as a Forest School where they can explore, learn and develop; as well as a recently developed playground, which includes new gym equipment and a climbing wall. Our Senior School’s £18m state-of-the-art redevelopment includes a purpose-built theatre, contemporary Sixth Form Centre, two art studios, music technology classrooms and so much more. Our five-acre Sports Campus is just a short walk away from both schools. This is a school where heritage meets innovation.
FUTURE FOCUSED
The modern, light Senior School offers state-of-the-art science labs, creative spaces, a climbing wall, language labs and a theatre. Our Sixth Form Centre provides a contemporary, independent space as students prepare for life beyond the school.
Wellbeing is at the heart of school life, supported by The Nest – our calm, holistic wellbeing hub.
PART OF THE COMMUNITY
Our students give back to our community. Whether volunteering with local charities, supporting care homes or helping to keep our green spaces clean, girls are active, responsible, engaged members of the local community, building confidence, empathy and a deep sense of purpose.
