AN ALL-THROUGH SCHOOL

one school, one vision

Although we operate across two sites, Blackheath High School is a true all-through school guided by one vision and ethos. The leadership team and teaching staff work seamlessly together to create a consistent, personalised education that supports every girl at every stage.

Staying at the same school from Nursery to Sixth Form offers a continuous learning journey within a close community. With our Junior and Senior Schools just a short walk apart, girls experience a seamless transition between stages and a nurturing ‘big sister, little sister’ culture that supports them throughout.

Each stage has a distinct character – from the exciting learning spaces and Forest School in Nursery, to the playful, lively, warm environment of the Junior School, and the modern, state-of-the-art Senior School and Sixth Form. Every student also benefits from a wealth of shared facilities, such as our five-acre sports camp and Senior School Theatre, giving them countless opportunities to grow, explore and discover new passions.

Junior School pupils have an automatic place at our Senior School, avoiding the stressful 11+ application process and ensuring a seamless transition to the next stage on their educational journey. Girls arrive in Year 7 knowing their teachers and surrounded by their friends, ready to learn and have fun.

Big sister, little sister

Our Big Sister, Little Sister programme and ethos brings students together across year groups, creating a strong sense of belonging from Nursery to Sixth Form, and relationships that span every stage of your daughter’s journey.

Through a carefully designed programme of buddy groups, prefect roles, leadership opportunities, House events and shared school activities, younger girls are inspired by older pupils, learning from their example and getting excited about the opportunities ahead. At the same time, older girls are encouraged and supported to grow into thoughtful leaders and mentors, developing responsibility, empathy and confidence in their position as role models.

These connections are vital in creating a supportive, uplifting environment where every girl feels known, encouraged and part of something bigger.

THE HEART
OF THE COMMUNITY

Community is at the heart of Blackheath High. From Nursery onwards, girls form lifelong friendships, with new students welcomed at every stage. Teachers know each pupil individually, supporting smooth transitions and helping every girl to flourish.

Our House system spans the entire school, with pupils staying in the same House throughout their time here. This continuity fosters a strong sense of community and belonging. It also creates leadership opportunities at every stage – from Year 6 Buddies supporting younger pupils, to Year 12 House Leaders running academic societies and captaining teams.
