Exciting news from the judo mats!
Solomiia (Year 10) has had a remarkable few months. After winning the Kent Closed competition, she was selected for the Kent Judo Squad and went on to help the county secure bronze at the Southern Area Inter-County Championship – before adding a individual bronze at the London Youth Games. A special detail: her coach, Ramsiye Toprak, is a Blackheath High alumna herself.
Year 7’s Ines has been equally impressive, winning the Kent U16 Split Grade Open and taking gold at the London Youth Games. She competes next at the London Open in May making her one to watch!
Judo demands confidence, resilience and determination in equal measure – qualities we’re proud to nurture at Blackheath High. We’ll be cheering both girls on every step of the way.
