Head’s Blog – July 2026

From Nursery coastal campaigns to GDST SpaceTech & CISI accreditations, our students have excelled at every stage and have much to be proud of.

As we reach the end of another full and vibrant year at Blackheath High School, I have been reflecting on the tremendous enthusiasm, talent and spirit shown by our pupils across the school. From Nursery’s ballet showcase and coastal campaigns to the Junior School production of Kitty Whittington and Year 6 Celebration Events, our younger pupils have embraced every opportunity with confidence, curiosity and lots of smiles. Residential trips for Years 4, 5 and 6 have been particular highlights and I expect they returned home very tired!

Across both Junior and Senior School, pupils have excelled in Music, Sport and the Arts. Our Summer Concerts and performances showcased impressive creativity, while Sports Days brought our community together in a celebration of teamwork, determination and house rivalry. A special highlight for many was the opportunity to experience Wimbledon, while our immersive Shakespeare Showcase in the school grounds reminded us of not only the talent of ours students but also their willingness to challenge themselves.

In the Senior School and Sixth Form, pupils have continued to push themselves academically and personally through a wide range of opportunities – including various enrichment and scholarship activities, the GDST SpaceTech Diploma, the CISI Fundamental of Financial Services Accreditation and valuable career and work experience programmes. Not to mention our regular school and inter-House competitions such as the Year 8 Science Fair and Gadesden Drama.

As we celebrate our Year 13 students and wish them every success for the future, I would like to thank our staff, parents and wider school community for their unwavering support throughout the year. Together, we have created countless opportunities for our pupils to learn and grow. We are delighted too, that our collective efforts have been recognised this week, as we have been awarded a Commendation for Independent Prep School Of the Year, 2026, in the prestigious Independent School Of The Year Awards.

I wish all our families a restful and happy summer holiday, and I look forward to welcoming everyone back in September for another exciting year at Blackheath High School.

Best wishes,
