joining from abroad
overseas applicants
We have a number of international pupils at our school and we welcome applications from around the world.
International students coming to the UK as a dependent on a parent’s visa may apply for all entry points, as well as occasional vacancies. We can only accept applications that require Child Student Visa Sponsorship for entry at 16+.
For all main entry points, admissions timings and processes are the same as for UK-based students so please explore the Join Us page for your chosen age group – Nursery for 3 year olds, Junior School for girls aged 4-10, Senior School for girls aged 11-16, and Sixth Form for the final stage of your daughter’s school education.

If you are able, we strongly recommend visiting the school in person to get a feel for our environment, teaching and facilities.
Visit us
You can book onto any of our open events, or we can arrange a visit and tour at a time that works best for you while visiting the UK.
If that is not possible, you can take a virtual tour of the school.
Apply
To apply, submit the international student online application for your chosen year group and pay the non-refundable registration fee of £200 excluding VAT.
Apply
Senior School and Sixth Form applicants will also have the option to apply for a bursary (at 11+, 13+ or 16+), or scholarship (at 11+ and 16+). Parents must meet UK residency requirements to be considered for a bursary.
You will be asked to provide as much detail as possible regarding subject courses completed and examinations to date. Your daughter’s current school will be contacted for a reference and details of her academic performance. This may include examination results or predictions, depending on her age.
Assessment
All applicants undergo an assessment to establish English language proficiency.
Assessment
Junior School applicants sit an age-appropriate assessment in English and Maths. If your travel plans don’t allow her to attend Blackheath High to sit the assessment in person, we can liaise with your daughter’s current school so she can sit the papers there.
All Senior School and Sixth Form applicants sit an assessment to establish English language proficiency. Senior School applicants must pass our standard entrance exams in Maths and English. Sixth Form candidates will be assessed on grades/ predictions in equivalent exams to GCSEs and will be required to meet minimum grades in the subjects they want to study.
Successful candidates will be invited to attend an interview. If possible within your travel plans, we recommend that your daughter attends the exams and interview in person – this is the best way for us to get to know each other.
Offers
If your application is successful, you will be sent an offer letter – any awarded scholarships or bursaries will also be outlined in this letter.
Offers
Offers must be accepted by the date outlined in the letter in order to secure your daughter’s place.
Once your daughter’s place has been confirmed, our Admissions Team will remain in contact with you throughout the remainder of the academic year to ensure that you and your daughter are well-prepared for her arrival at the school.
