Where girls boldly go
A Blackheath High Senior School education combines academic ambition with creativity, curiosity and a real sense of fun. We challenge our girls to think deeply, ask bold questions and explore ideas with confidence – both in lessons and through the many exciting opportunities outside the classroom. Whether it’s designing solutions in STEM clubs, smashing sporting challenges, or taking part in public speaking and debating competitions, we believe learning should be engaging, inspiring and full of possibility.
We have created a warm, inclusive community where every girl feels known, supported and encouraged to be herself. Our approach to pastoral care is rooted in empowering students to develop the resilience and courage to take risks, learn from setbacks and support others along the way.
We want our students to raise their voices, own their space, and feel empowered to make a difference – whether that’s through leadership roles, creative expression or championing causes they care about.
By the time they leave us, Blackheath High girls are not just academically ready for what’s next – they’re ready to lead, to stand up for what matters, and to shape the world around them with confidence.

Apply
To apply, submit an online application for your chosen year group and pay the non-refundable registration fee of £150 (£200 for overseas applicants) excluding VAT.
You will be asked to indicate on your application form if you wish your daughter to be considered for a scholarship and/or bursary. Additional forms will then be provided. Please note that students may apply for scholarships 11+ and 16+, and for bursaries at 11+, 13+ and 16+.
Pupils in our Junior School are offered a seamless transition to the Senior School, continuing their education within the same supportive environment.
Assessment
Blackheath High is an academically selective school, with additional scholarship and bursary opportunities for exceptional applicants.
Assessment
Our 11+ entrance examination is held in November, after which successful candidates will be invited to interview. Both the exam and the interview day are designed to be as relaxed as possible, to give girls a positive experience.
The 11+ interview day, held in January, gives girls the opportunity to meet one of our experienced teachers and talk about their academic and personal interests. Those shortlisted for academic or subject scholarships will have additional interviews with the Head or relevant Heads of Department. (Sports Scholarship candidates attend a separate assessment day in December.)
At 13+ and for occasional vacancies in other year groups, applicants take age-appropriate assessments in English and Maths. Successful candidates will then be invited to an interview with one of our senior teachers.
Offers
If your application is successful, you will be sent an offer letter – any awarded scholarships or bursaries will also be outlined in this letter.
Offers
Offers must be accepted by the date outlined in the letter in order to secure your daughter’s place.
A deposit of £1,000 is charged when you accept the place and is returned at the end of your daughter’s time with us.
Once your daughter’s place has been confirmed, our Admissions Team will remain in contact with you throughout the remainder of the academic year to ensure that you and your daughter are well-prepared for her arrival at the school.

For girls joining in Year 7, we host an induction evening in the Summer Term, as well as an optional week-long Summer School to help everyone settle in before term starts. Early in their first term, Year 7s also enjoy a fun-packed team-building day, providing a brilliant way to make friends and start the Blackheath High journey together.
For girls joining at 13+ or taking up occasional vacancies, we design a full induction including taster days and partnering her with a buddy to ensure a smooth, enjoyable transition.
