join us

There are several entry points to Blackheath High School. The majority of Junior School pupils start in Nursery (age 3), with other entry points at Reception (age 4+) or in Year 3 (age 7+).

Senior School students can join in Year 7 (age 11+), Year 9 (age 13+) or Sixth Form (age 16+). In addition, spaces sometimes become available in other years – we call these Occasional Vacancies.

Girls can join our Nursery at any time after their third birthday. As part of the application process, you will meet the Head of the Junior School and our specialist Early Years team, and your daughter will be invited to events including stay & play sessions and taster mornings to give her the best start to her educational journey.

join the senior school

The main Senior School entry point is at Year 7 (11+). Registration for 11+ entry, plus for a scholarship and bursary, opens from the summer term of Year 5. Your daughter will be invited to sit our entrance exam in November of Year 6, with interviews and scholarship assessments in January.

We also welcome applications for Year 9 entry (13+), with bursaries offered at this stage. You can register for 13+ when your daughter is in Year 8, with assessments in English and Maths, bursary assessments and interviews all taking place in March.

join the sixth form

Every year, we welcome exceptional students from a variety of schools into our Sixth Form. Applications are welcomed at any time during Year 11 – students will be invited to an assessment and interview. Scholarship and bursary interviews take place in early November so we encourage early applications for these.

Occasional vacancies

Places sometimes become available outside our usual entry points. If you’re interested in a place for your daughter in any year group, please contact our Admissions Team for availability, application advice and next steps.

We recommend you sign up to one of our open events or any taster event relevant to your daughter’s age to experience the benefits of a Blackheath High School education. We are also able to offer private tours by arrangement.

open days & events

The best way to experience the magic of a Blackheath High education is to visit us in person. We warmly welcome you to join us at one of the many open events, taster days, stay & play sessions, performances and more that we hold throughout the year.

scholarships and bursaries

Students may apply for scholarships at 11+ and 16+, and for bursaries at 11+, 13+ and 16+. Assessments and interviews take place for these at the same time. Junior School scholarships and bursaries are not offered.
