Required from: September 2026 for one day per week
Teaching rate: £24.50 per 30-minute lesson
A space has become available for a Visiting Music Teacher (Singing) to use the facilities at Blackheath High School.
Visiting Music Teachers are self-employed and the contract for the provision of lessons is between parents and the VMT. The VMT Agreement is drawn up by the GDST and arrangements for instrumental lessons are managed by the Director of Music, who acts as an agent in making the contractual arrangement with parents.
There is currently one day of teaching available for 14 pupils, but this is subject to change in demand. The post would suit a candidate with experience in nurturing young female voices in classical repertoire. The current teaching rate is £24.50 per 30-minute lesson.

If you are an experienced Spanish Teacher who can foster a love of Spanish in your students, then this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the Modern Languages department at Blackheath High School.
Spanish is very popular at Blackheath High School and there is a lot of enthusiasm for it. As Head of Spanish, you will ensure this continues, and that students understand the importance of Spanish in the global community.
You will be responsible for teaching Spanish to students of all age ranges from 11 – 18 and will equip students with sound linguistic skills through challenging and differentiated lessons.
Leading by example, you will ensure the smooth and efficient running of the department and inspire and motivate a team of subject specialists through your own passion for the subject.
You will also be working closely with the Head of MFL to embed the MFL department vision and development plan and will contribute effectively to the MFL calendar and running of trips, such as organising and leading regular trips to Spain.
The ability to teach Spanish across the full range of KS3, KS4 and KS5 is essential.

Hours: Part time – 10 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 6.30am – 8.30am, term time only
We are seeking to appoint a School Minibus Supervisor to safely supervise a daily school bus route.
Your main responsibilities will include supervising the collection and delivery of students at various pickup points on the route to school each morning.
The School Minibus Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all pupils are safely seated and behaving appropriately throughout the journey. Additionally, you will be responsible for escorting junior pupils either into school or handing over their care to a member of the Junior School staff.
This is a key role as a representative and ambassador for the school.
This role requires meeting the minibus by 7.00am at Tower Gateway DLR station and then alighting at Blackheath Village. A pre-paid oyster card will be provided for the commute to Tower Gateway.

As the Head of Maths Faculty, you will have overall responsibility for the professional leadership and management of Maths. Leading by example, you will ensure high standards of leadership and management are realised and that high standards of teaching and learning are delivered.
