Applications are invited from well qualified and passionate teachers, with the ability to teach Key Stage 1 curriculum, to head up a thriving and successful KS1 Department.

Key Stage One at Blackheath High School follows the Creative Curriculum with a lively and inspiring range of activities, workshops, trips and visitors. Topics may range from “Under the Sea” to “A Polar Adventure” with a science and/or historical focus. The curriculum is full of academic rigour, but the lessons are fun and play remains important.

To ensure this continues, you will play a key role using an appropriate range of teaching strategies and resources, teaching with expertise and enthusiasm and offering support to the learning of individual students. As Head of Key Stage One, you will have responsibility for monitoring the academic progress, behaviour and welfare of pupils. Staff are also expected to contribute to our co-curricular programme.

If you have experience of working in a successful department at KS1 or lower KS2 and can demonstrate equal passion for your subject and working with young pupils, we would be delighted to hear from you.
