Petanque? Salsa Dancing? Calligraphy Tracing? Karaoke? It must be languages week!

This year, Modern Foreign Languages week was a fun-filled and relaxing celebration.

The atmosphere was very congenial, especially as our super Sixth Form Linguists organised and ran activities for the younger pupils. We enjoyed playing Pétanque ( boules) with Mademoiselle Wood, dancing salsa with Señora Rosado, tracing Calligraphy with Mrs Chung, and singing German pop songs with Frau Turvey!

A range of linguistic challenges like translating figurative idiomatic expressions from French to English and vice versa was also offered and students had lots of fun to discover very different translations!

We finished the week with a very successful MFL Karaoke for the youngest students and a Wollstonecraft Session for the older students. This year, we hosted David Rennie, School liaison officer for Gonville and Caius and with a detailed explanation of what it entails to study at Oxbridge.
