Reflections on a Working Life

This was the title of the latest Wollstonecraft Lecture on 16 October when we hosted Dr Mary Linington. Dr Mary is notable for being the first woman to be awarded a PhD in Chemistry from Warwick University. After a successful career in science and education, she is now retired and so she was able to share her observations and thoughts on her experiences with our Sixth Form. She engaged the girls with useful advice for achieving goals and finding their passions. In particular, many of the girls felt more confident after her remarks around networking, as she revealed practical tips for working a room and making a positive, lasting impression on others.
