The World - Year 1 illustrate how to look after planet Earth

This term's Creative Curriculum topic in Year 1 is, 'The World'. At the start of this new focus, we have been learning to describe planet Earth from space and sharing the enchanting Oliver Jeffers picture book, 'Here We Are, Notes for Living on Planet Earth'.

The girls have shown great care and enthusiasm whilst creating eye-catching information posters. Each poster contains instructions for protecting the Earth, such as, "Reuse plastic bags." and "Don't drop litter on beaches."

We combined our Science experiment about chromatography, using ink and water on coffee filters to make bright and blurry Earths. To create space, we used the back end of paintbrushes to print tiny white stars on black paper. Each poster has a distinctive title.

'Well, that is Planet Earth.

Make sure you look after it, as it's all we've got.'
