What Can I Study?

Our bespoke Sixth Form curriculum offers you both breadth and specialisation. We offer 25 different A-level subjects alongside the Extended Project qualification and the Wollstonecraft Enrichment course.

Teaching in Sixth Form reflects a university style approach, with teaching groups of around 5-10 students. This seminar style enables you to build strong academic relationships with staff and hone your discursive, practical and presentation skills. Teaching staff create a supportive environment in which ‘thinking outside the box’ is valued and students enjoy working hard at subjects they love.

Mentoring will enable you to learn the skills and mindset required to help you succeed and in one-to-one meetings with your Tutor, you will also discuss your aspirations and agree and review next steps in achieving them.

A bespoke curriculum

As part of our bespoke Sixth Form curriculum, we offer the following:
Art and Design, Art and Design (Textiles), Biology, Business, Chemistry, Classical Civilisation, Computer Science, Design and Technology: Product Design, Economics, English Literature, Geography, Government and Politics, History, Latin, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Modern Languages (French, German, Mandarin and Spanish), Music, Religion, Philosophy and Ethics, Physics, Psychology, Drama and Theatre Studies, LAMDA, and Global Perspectives.

To complement our bespoke curriculum, we offer a variety of ‘super-curricular’ activities such as leading an academic society or attending a subject extension discussion group. We also offer an A-level Mindset programme in tutor and PSHE time to help you make the transition from GCSE through to A-level, and equip you with the tools to navigate your way through the opportunities and challenges to come.

Extended Project Qualification

Is the NHS in crisis? Why are there so few female engineers? Whether you choose to explore a specialised topic based on what you are studying or an issue of personal interest that you are passionate about, the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) enables you to explore a topic in more detail than is normally allowed in class.

Through the EPQ, you will stretch yourself as a learner and gain the confidence to work independently and creatively. In small, specialist classes, you will produce a piece of work that is an extension of your current studies or interests, and develop the skills and knowledge of a confident, independent learner.

With universities and employers looking favourably on students with an EPQ, this qualification will give you the edge over others both in interviews and on your UCAS form.

To find out more about the EPQ, please read our Sixth Form Handbook.
