It's official, Ezie in Year 13 is the winner of the seventh prize in the UK Best Student of Spanish awarded by the Spanish Government and the Spanish Embassy in London.

Each year the winner is selected amongst the Spanish students in the whole of the United Kingdom with the best academic record.

“I knew Ezie was a strong candidate, the best candidate. Not only she had a most impressive academic record but also the student and person profile they were looking for. I am very proud of Ezie’s achievements, talent and love for the language. I have had the pleasure of teaching Ezie Spanish GCSE and A Levels. All these years I have been impressed by her application in class as well as her incredible thirst for knowledge”

- Mrs Rosado, Head of Spanish

The prize is awarded with the patronage of the Junta de Castilla y León Government and consists of a trip to this Spanish region where Ezie will be able to attend a Spanish language Course in Salamanca, a beautiful city that lies on several hills by the famous Tormes river. Its Old City was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988. Salamanca is one of the most important university cities in Spain and attracts thousands of international students.

“I am immensively happy for Ezie and the opportunity that this fantastic recognisition gives her”

Although Ezie, does not intend to study Spanish at university level as she hopes to study medicine, she has always expressed her desire to keep up learning and perfecting the language.

The Education and Cultural Consejeria of the Spanish Embassy in London will make their announcement as soon as possible and depending on the lifting of restrictions, will let us know when the prize ceremony will take place.
