Leading by example

A key aim of the co-curricular programme in any school is to give as many students as possible the opportunity to develop those traits of leadership and citizenship which will assist them in assuming positions of responsibility at university and work in the future.

Our Sixth Formers, in particular, practise their leadership skills through Academic Societies. By running these societies on a weekly basis for the younger girls, the Society President learns to delegate and communicate, exhibiting confidence and commitment.

We were, therefore, very pleased to be able to add to the current leadership opportunities in the co-curricular programme with the recent creation of the Raising and Giving Society (RAGS). Congratulations go to Siya, Sienna, Maitri, Apple and Sadie in Year 11 who will be leading our charity work for the forthcoming year. Charity is an integral part of our community and we look forward to the new direction that this will take under the guidance of this group of students.
