Rain holds off for triumphant Years 1-3 on Sports Day

On Friday 9 June, the Year 1, 2 and 3 girls made their way to the sports field filled with excitement and enthusiasm for their annual Sports Day. Great fun was had by all at the field. The girls competed in their Houses in several events, including football skills, egg and spoon relays, and sack races. At each station, the teams were able to gain points for their Houses and after all the stations were completed, it was time for the competitive running races. The girls, teachers and families cheered with great enthusiasm and encouragement. Luckily the rain held off!

Year 3 kicked things off by running the 80 metres, which had everyone cheering on the side-lines. They were followed by Year 2 and then Year 1. The dedication to our annual Sports Day soon became apparent when the Year 3 girls took part in the 400-metre race. A great effort was put in by all and well done to Marley who took the number one position, followed by Melissa in second and Alannah and Cordelia in joint third.

Paragon House clinched the first place title closely followed by Meridian. Morden took third place and Vanbrugh took fourth place.

Thank you to all the girls and parents for your participation and support. A special thank you to the Year 6 helpers who demonstrated, supported and scored at the different stations. We hope you all enjoyed yourselves and see you next year!
